Hi there, my name is James and this is my blog where I write about game development and art (traditional and digital/game focused.)

I mainly dabble in Unreal Engine 4, doing blueprints, tech art and level creation. I am generally trying to push my own game development skills, as I strive towards building my own small games studio.

Some stuff about me:

  • I am currently a Games Design Lecturer at South Gloucester and Stroud College (SGS) in Bristol, UK.
  • I have massive interests in weird Sci-fi, Marvel comics, Lego, world-building and sketching in various places. (I like to go outdoors a lot to draw.)
  • I was shortlisted for the Deutsche Bank Award for Creative Enterprises in 2017 along with my friend Amber Jamieson for our indie game business I_DO_TRI, we will continue to develop games under the I_DO_TRI umbrella.
  • I have a (sorta) unhealthy obsession with penguins. (The cute black and white bird of the ice, not the chocolate biscuit with the rubbish jokes.)

In this blog I will attempt to chronicle all the weird shit I make, provide learning resources as well as some lengthy descriptions on how I do things that could help give some insight. I hope you all find it useful.

Oh, and hopefully some of this is entertaining/interesting. Interesting at worst.
